Danny Norman is NIST Manufacturing Extension Partnership’s Advanced Manufacturing Consultant at the University of Tennessee Center for Industrial Services.  Danny supports manufacturers with I4.0 and automation assessments that provide a staring point to consider advanced technology investments.  Danny prides himself on his ability to see the connections between emerging technology and opportunities on the plant floor.

In 2019 Danny worked with New York and Washington MEP to provide a nationwide service that finds specialized skillsets that manufacturers need to innovate.  Before joining UT Center for Industrial Services, Danny worked in industry to license and commercialize technologies from Oak Ridge National Laboratory and Y-12.  Danny holds a bachelor's in engineering mechanics from Lipscomb University and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Tennessee.

Employee Bio

Misty DePriest is a Manufacturing Program Manager for the Tennessee Manufacturing Extension Partnership housed in the University of Tennessee Center for Industrial Services. DePriest started at UT CIS in 2003 as a Manufacturing Consultant and has over twenty years of experience managing manufacturing operations and continuous improvement projects across a broad range of industries. Ms. DePriest currently leads the TMEP resource consultant team, helps write and manage several Federal grants, and coordinates marketing outreach and new program development.  

DePriest holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and Master of Science in Engineering Management from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. She is a Tennessee Certified Economic Developer, certified National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) lean trainer, and a SME Bronze level lean certified sensei.

George Aslinger is an experienced manufacturing leader with focus on plant engineering, quality, and continuous improvement. He takes pride in training the developing employee skills in problem solving and implementing new solutions to difficult problems. As a Solutions Consultant his goals include serving Tennessee manufacturers and creating better jobs in the Chattanooga valley.

George’s passion for continuous improvement can be traced back to years as Organizational Effectiveness Leader for Avery Dennison. He focuses on teaching and applying statistical methods to improve process capability, measurement systems, and design of experiments.
