In partnership with UT Knoxville, the Tennessee Manufacturing Extension Partnership (TMEP) is excited to announce the East Tennessee Initiative for Smart Energy Management (ETISE). This initiative has been made possible by a grant from the United States Department of Energy (DOE).
The overarching goal of ETISE is to create a regional model for both technical assistance and workforce training in order to effectively integrate smart manufacturing and energy management systems into the business practices of small to medium sized manufacturers. ETISE has three objectives:
- Understand both the smart manufacturing and energy management implementation by industries in the region
- Develop a technical assistance and workforce training model at the regional level through service to manufacturers in East Tennessee
- Provide DOE and its Advanced Manufacturing Office (AMO) strategic suggestions to promote the adoption of smart manufacturing for energy management
You can find the full details on the ETISE website.
There are three important ways that you can participate. First, the ETISE Team will be holding the first Training Workshop on Thursday, November 30 at Oak Ridge National Laboratory’s Manufacturing Demonstration Facility located in Hardin Valley. This training workshop is free and lunch is provided at no cost to you.
You can find full details, including the agenda and registration link on the ETISE website. Please register by Friday, November 24.
Secondly, you can participate in our “30 for 30” survey where you can receive a $30 Visa gift card for completing our 30-minute survey regarding your company’s approach to energy management and smart manufacturing. Again, you will find this survey on the ETISE website.
Finally, we are conducting a limited number of free, on-site assessments using teams of UT Engineering Students along with an experienced energy professional. Followed this assessment, you will receive a detailed report that will help your company move forward along the path of improved energy management, reduced emissions (decarbonization) and implementation of smart manufacturing. Currently, these assessments are already booked up through the remainder of 2023 and the entirety of 2024.
