Program Details
When new hires arrive without manufacturing fundamentals, the cost lands on your floor as slower ramp-up, rework, and safety risk. Manufacturing Skills for Success gives new and incumbent workers a shared baseline of technical and workplace skills, so people become productive faster and meet one consistent standard.
The full program is eighty hours of training delivered across ten days, on-site at your facility. Every participant receives a University of Tennessee Center for Industrial Services certificate of completion and an OSHA 10-Hour General Industry card.

Technical Foundations
Print Reading for Manufacturing
Read and interpret the engineering prints used in manufacturing.
Measurement for Manufacturing
Use common measurement tools, including calipers, gauge blocks, and comparators.
Math for Manufacturing
Learn or refresh the basic math skills used on the manufacturing floor.
Quality & Continuous Improvement
Quality Tools & Techniques
Understand what quality is, why it matters, and the basic tools used to monitor and improve it.
Problem-Solving & Root Cause Analysis
Apply the Plan-Do-Check-Act method to a simulated manufacturing problem.
5S System
Transform a cluttered area into a clean, orderly, efficient workplace using 5S.
