The Tennessee Manufacturing extension Partnership (TMEP) Knoxville Executive Peer group recently met at Tactical Kinetics’ West Knoxville location and toured their facility. The executive peer group is led by Ashleigh Walters , a noted author, Industry Week columnist and industry veteran. Participating peer group members, like Tactical Kinetics, are from various small or mid-sized manufacturing businesses in the Knoxville area. Each month the group gathers to learn how to improve their overall operations by hearing from guest speakers and from in-depth peer group discussions.
The group learned about their recent growth and improved manufacturing results driven by their implementation of Lean Manufacturing. Lean Manufacturing is a systematic approach to identifying and eliminating non-value-added activities in production processes, resulting in higher efficiency and profitability for manufacturers.
